Here at Garson House, our ultimate aim is to provide all our residents with the care and dignity they deserve. We are passionate about our residents feeling as comfortable and 'at home' as they can. We want friends and relatives to feel truly welcomed and are able to visit at any time of day or night.
We have regular activities going on at Garson House and as part of a close knit and friendly local community, we also regularly participate in events going on within Lynton and further afield.
For those residents who are able, we welcome and assist them in getting out and about. Garson House is perfectly located right in the centre of Lynton. There are shops, a post office, churches, hotels, restaurants and tea rooms all close by. The views from Lynton and Lynmouth are idyllic and there is often time for a delicious ice cream by the sea. Residents with mobility issues are always offered assistance with trips out.
We believe that education is very important and at Garson House all of our staff receive comprehensive training when joining our team; even experienced carers and we continue with regular updates on training ensuring all residents at Garson House have the best possible and most experienced care we can offer.
Being a small family run care home we truly care about each of our residents and we enjoy getting to know them and their family and friends.
Residential Care Residential care tends to be for residents who do not need specialised nursing care but may need assistance with day-to-day tasks such as washing, dressing, getting in and out of bed – basics that would compromise quality of life for someone living independently in their own home. At Garson House our staff take care of all those tricky tasks whilst encouraging residents to lead a full and enjoyable life within a safe environment and participating in social activities.
We are a community based care home and welcome local elderly residents of Lynton and Lynmouth to come and use our facilities and join in with daily life at Garson House.
Day care can simply be an odd day here or there to provide a safe caring environment for your loved one on occasional days when needed.
Or a regular weekly visit when we can provide any element of care required, whether it be some regular familiar company and a hot cooked meal for your loved on or a weekly bath in mobility friendly facilities.
Dementia Care Dementia covers a range of symptoms, which can include confusion and problems with memory and communication. It is not a disease in itself, rather a set of symptoms accompanying conditions that affect the brain, the most common of which is Alzheimer’s Disease. Dementia is progressive which means that symptoms will gradually get worse and this will affect each person in a different way. We are always happy to consider residents with Dementia.
End of life Care At Garson House we offer end of life care for both new and existing residents. We aim to make life as pleasant as possible even in the most difficult of circumstances, ensuring our residents are comfortable and cared for so that they can enjoy their time with us and more importantly the precious company of their loved ones.
