The Main living area for residents comprises of a large entrance hall with a central lift, a large sitting room with many styles of chairs to suit individuals taste, a sun lounge, a sensory room and a large dining room.
There are nurse call bells fitted in every room.
In the working part of the house there is a large and well equipped kitchen, offices and a laundry room
The Rooms
We have 3 bedrooms on the ground floor and 10 bedrooms on the first floor.
Each bedroom is individually decorated, light and airy.
We like to decorate our rooms individually to suit the size and shape of the room.
All the bedrooms have good sized windows. Some of the rooms overlook the picturesque town and some have a sea view.
We have various size rooms which works well as some residents prefer a larger room while others feel more comfortable in a smaller room.
Many of our rooms have en-suite 'wet' room bathrooms with showers.
For the rooms that are not en-suite, we have various toilets in the home plus a main bathroom containing a bath with a lifting hoist to enable easy access. Comodes are placed in bedrooms where required.
Every room is fitted with a nurse call bell system both in the bedroom room and in the en-suite.
Our rooms also have Television, Sky and Telephone points.
All our rooms are fully equipped with the necessary bed, mattress, toilet facility, chair, hoist and any other equipment required.
Laundry
Laundry is collected from residents bedrooms by our care staff and washed and ironed in house.
All of our staff are extremely courteous and respectful of our residents items of clothing when handling, washing and ironing them.
We ensure specifically that one residents clothes do not become muddled with another and we take the upmost care regards washing suitable items together.
Hairdresser
We have a hairdresser who visits Garson House weekly.
Hairdressing is generally carried out in the resident's own bedroom to give a little extra privacy. Each resident is able to choose how often they have their hair cut and what style they prefer.
Chiropody
The Chiropodist visits Garson House when required.
The Chiropodist treats the resident's feet in the privacy of their own room.
We ensure that like our staff, chiropodists that visit our home are fully DBS checked.
We have a good working relationship with the chiropodist and each resident is treated as little or often as they need it. We work with the chiropodist to monitor the frequency.
Cleaning
Our home is thoroughly cleaned by our own cleaners or carers when necessary.
The bedrooms are generally cleaned through the day and the main living spaces of the house are cleaned during the day and night.
We maintain a high level of cleanliness at Garson House.
